You are da bomb, Kyle. Total respect from this ol' dog.

Not telling us anything we don't already know, my friend :). Drawing and cleaning might well be the least of it :D. But when you finally do kick this bastard big C to the curb, all will be forgiven. 8)

Of course it's not true for everybody, Kevin. You maybe are not as aware, as most of the rest of us are...you are one of the 1 percenters, so far as tree climbing chops go. Few of us bring even a small portion of the talent to this work that you do. You are a world class treeman, no doubt...

Let me see if I can find a thread to refer y'all to. But in the meantime, short answer is "you'll have to hunt hard to find an easier way to gaff yourself".

I don't like any ascender on a spur. But that horse has been beat pretty hard here in the past. Carry on, if you dare.

Eff that shite, a little rope wear on a limb...just spur climb the bastardos, let the chips fall where they may, if the tree deserves to survive, let it . ;):P:D

It is voodoo, Kyle. You'll have to kill a rooster at midnight to be allowed to see the pictures. :D

    That's a slick application.

Exactly, Dave. I never climbed SRT a single time wherein my climb line was not anchored by basal tie in, either on the host tree, or on a nearby stem. Never once. Never was worried about the security of that anchor, either. I did have the luxury of always working with really top quality...

My friend, Cory...you are totally missing the boat if you don't at least give the HH1 a try. Add a micro-pulley in for maximum tending, and it is a beautiful thing. If you need pics, there are some from me in here somewhere...let me know, and I'll try to run them down to link, or go back to my...

There are only two applications where I always used a stopper knot. Neither is my climb line or rappel line...I'm with Dave and Stephen on this one. The two apps...on my long rope lanyards (16-20 ft.), and on my 4 inch tie in self belay system when working above safe from breakout diameter...

David, my esteemed friend. You also are a wizard, and one we who have tried to improve our skills and abilities aloft over many a year must thank. Gary puts his fingertip on a fact all of us here should acknowledge, especially those of us with enough turns in the barrel to be able to see what...

Excellent points, Dave. I lumped both your Sequoia SRT and my Sequoia standard in together in my previous post, and that is a mistake. Forgot completely that you're in the SRT model, and obviously didn't look close enough at your pics to remind me :). Yes, the roller box is not without...
