Better products than a petroleum based one for that, Butch. Wax based will preserve the leather better, I think. Applied the same way, too.

The roughout is a good way to go. Triple shank takes a looong time to break in.

They are both great boots. I've owned several pairs of Wescos, only the one White's. I don't really think one is better than the other...sorta a Chevy/Ford/Dodge argument :).
