    I've experianced that stuff myself and it indeed appears to be aluminum oxide although I have no way of actually knowing . I wonder though if it's caused by a chemical reaction or electroysis .If the later then evidently the fuel must contain or cause some type of interaction with the metal...

    That rascal is just a tricky little carb .No other way to look at it .When it works good you can't beat it .When it doesn't you pull your hair out figuring out why .

    That little Zama is one carb I can't explain because I have no idea what lurks under that damned triangle shaped welch plug .Eddie tried to explain it but I got lost in the first turn . Eventually as I'm sure will happen one of my 200s' will take a fit and then I'll delve into it .

    I can't really say I've had a problem with oil seperation but then again if the mix gets about a month old I dump it in my old tractor .The old Fergueson could care less ,it will burn anything .

    Another after thought on these carbs .If it's cracked in the fuel chamber ,myself and several others have repaired them with "red loctite " with fairly good success .One gent on another forum pulls the welch plug and seals the little pump circuit off .
