I took a more accurate pressure reading at the air valve after filling the APTA chamber. 50 psi will get 100 + vertical with the 7.8 oz weight , 'O' ring seal makes all the difference!.. 200 psi = Redwood?

Yes it is on the light side for those through the canopy shots, but worked Ok for an isolated limb. Might drill this one and add a little lead but definitely need to make a heavier version.
It rocks! : 60 psi =100 ft .First shot with 150 psi took 180 ft of throw line and lifted the plastic 5 gal bucket I had it tied to a foot off the ground. smooth surface and taper pulled out of the tight spruce canopy easily. Now I need to make one a bit heavier with a longer taper.
I Made an APTA throw weight out of some aluminum I had. Added an 'O' ring grove and powder coated it. Weight is about 7 oz .I Didn't have a long enough piece to get the taper I wanted but I will try it out latter and see if its something worth pursuing.
I'm with you, I would have Zero problem launching the rope Knight out of the APTA if it would work. Biggest problem is the diameter is smaller than the 1.6" I.D of the Apta tube. The only reason the soft throw bags work so well is the pressure seals the throw bag against the bore tube when...
