Also kind of funny that you mention stumpshot and then post your top secret vid of taking a big top all up in surrounding trees. Looked dicey.

Lmao. So you've developed some revolutionary cutting techniques that you choose to keep secret? Because why? If you have something you could add and choose not to because it's your secret, than that's pretty ignorant. Are you a selfish person?

Dude. You're constantly trying to revolutionize cutting. Like I mentioned in your other spruce thread you have lots to practice/learn just making good, proper, appropriate, clean cuts. You should be using these opportunities to hone some skills, not create the intentional non-barberchair...

Dr Shaw. Welcome to The Treehouse. I'm all for a good expirement if it doesn't affect production. I'm not for stunts in stupidity. I logged for a decade and did residential tree work for nearly a decade. Do you think that every situation I've been presented has been dealt with in a textbook...

I can guarantee that it wasn't the excessive pull that barberchaired the vid in that tree. It was cut up improperly or their was a flaw. Is there anymore footage/pics of the stump?

Heh I don't mean any disrespect Butch. In my time too I've done all sorts of different things but I believe it's been pretty well established that 99.9% of the time a proper face and back cut provides the best and safest directional control. Period.

I guess because I worked in the woods for so long it seems foolhardy to me to do something so stupid. Hell I've probably forgotten about more messes than I can remember that I've pulled apart with cable and machines. For me it's ingrained to stay alive and safe you do everything in the safest...

To me you mean? Unless I'm mistaken it doesn't look like that lead was even faced? Pulling a lead out like that with a skid steer to experiment around customers property seems irresponsible to me. Also embarrassing. It's just weird to me. I can tell you don't like my harassment of the Murph...

I can't even believe that you would do that around customers property. I dunno man, so what did you learn from your expirement? That it would be prudent to cut a proper face? Revolutionary.

What you're showing pics of doesn't even look like a barber chair to me. Barberchairs split up from the backcut. What you're posting is just trees split from pulling to hard or not being cut properly.

barberchairing is best avoided wrapping above the cut, not below. Certainly you wouldn't wrap just below the cut if worried about a barberchair without wrapping above it. To avoid confusion I'm just going to assume you mean while aloft as on the ground wrapping below it would be completely...

Well atleast the old Murph would troll with a fancy video lure. The new Murph is just lame. Put up or shut up.

Might be better to call it a three page thread about nothing.
