    I agree. If I rappel down a rigging line I use the lanyard around the spar for life support. The rig line is just a way to get down.

    I like how quickly you can advance/change that blue line SRT...and once went DRT with no fuss. Whoever threw that belay line up to you is GOOD...hella throw. Don't you love those unintended Zorro wraps? Hate having to go back up to unwrap a line that wraps like that.

    That's an interesting approach, Bixler...thanks for sharing that. Using the steel core as an ancillary lanyard sounds good. I enjoy my regular lanyard, haven't wanted to use a steel core all the time...just using it for blocking sounds good...thanks.

    I don't use two now...I use my climb line to advance past a blocking limb.

    Yep...the two lanyard procedure would have saved me a broken wrist when I was learning to climb...in those days you just held on with one hand while unclipping the lanyard and advancing it past the blocking limb. What a dumb way to climb. I didn't have sense to think of using a two lanyard...
