On Chips saw, you also have to figure in the chain is narrower and shorter, it takes smaller "bites" than the 3/8". If you were to port that saw, it might come more to life with the 3/8" chain. I've toyed putting 3/8" on my ported Husky 350, the cost doing it has been one reason, and it's iffy...- sawinredneck
