    Beautiful for this time of year. Sunny, mid 40s, and calm. Think I will get the bike out for one last ride. Been too busy to ride to much this year. I should be slowing down at 72, right? I guess its good to keep moving.

    That may well be so, but even a high-quality rope of too small dimension and/or load capacity could fairly easily be outmatched by that tree.

    Yep, these dead maple were definitely leaning toward the house and shed. Homeowner cleanup. Kept everything in the woods. A large widowmaker over the apple trees flipped over with the trunk.. no damage to the apples. I roughed up a few trees in the woods a bit. No problem...a few broken fir...
