Fun stuff, Leon. Nothing quite like a new saw to make a day special.

Then that leaves us back where Skwerl posited that you just have a higher useage rate than any of the rest of the world of spur climbers. Or you're just hell on gear ;). I'm sure you'll love the titaniums...stay with the caddies, but don't bolt 'em on :).

I'm 160-165, Butch. Not heavy, not light. There is only one reason I can think of that your Bashlins would have wallered out, and that's that the mounting screws got a bit loose, and you climbed on them that way a while before you realized they needed to be cinched up snug again. When a...

Most of the time I think Butch is pretty right on with stuff, but I disagree with declaring a blanket condemnation to short life expectancy with Bashlin Alcoas due to his "wallering out" issue. How many others have had this happen? No body chimed in when Butch brought the problem up, that I...

Yeah, change it around like you said, Brian...in the original configuration those are awkward as heck to use. Nice deal Brett, even so.

I think you're going to really like that 361. The anti-vibe spring mount system is very effective, though I found it a little hard to learn to keep a real straight kerf running initially, as there is significant "slop" between the powerhead and the handles, compared to rubber mount Stihls.

Brian, my local hardware store carries a variety of nylon bolts, nuts, and washers. To get the strength you'd want for that bracket, you would need to up the diameter from what you have now, but you could change over and be fully dielectric using them, fwiw.

If it's the same Courtney that I have dealt with, she's Customer Service Manager. Very professional, personable, and efficient in my experience. I have a different extension # for her though...maybe not the same person? I have a full name and email address...pm me if you need it...and you...

Same as Gary for me, Leon. 25 inch bar totally buried in 36 inch wood bucking off firewood rounds, pulls it fine. I'm running full skip, full chisel chain.

I expect you are gonna be real happy with that one, Leon. I sure am with mine. A real nice upgrade is the chain catcher/double dog set that GASoline Gary discovered. The stock dog is just plain too small, especially the lowest spur.

Nice, Gary. 32" is a fair amount of bar for a stock 044...remind me, have you opened that one up some?
