    What a surprise! :D

Not convincing, Adrian. Those ClimbRights ARE budget spurs, make no mistake.

Seems more logical to me, Pete. Descent included just encourages showboaty risk-taking.

I'll stay with my long-held plan of avoiding the whole pole climb comp in the first place...guys get busted up doing that stuff :).

Plus just the speed of the descent, a barely controlled fall as it is. Edit: repsponding to Butch.

All bets are off for regaining control under climbing comp foolishness.

Hands on flipline/lanyard at all times, near the pole, works best for me. Natural reaction to a kickout is to pull the lanyard tight to the pole (or tree, for that matter). I've spurred out more times than I can count, but I've never slid any distance at all, ever.

Pay attention, A. That one isn't on the table :D.

Well, for sure a hitch that doesn't grab is a bad thing :)...but one that is hard to advance and tightens up too much under load is a bad thing, too.

Is there an echo in here?? :D Good call, Nick.

For my money, the Ocean, tied. Next would be the 10mm Beeline. Both the others are way too grabby for my taste.

Yeah, well so is the tautline hitch, no split tail, without slack tender...I rest my case :D.

Done it only once...you are right, you don't want to do that :D. You don't want to mis-time the trap against the bole, either...took one full speed across the back of my hand once as well...that hurt :).
