The official "Welcome New Members" thread!

Welcome Robert. I can see getting inspired by Will Malloff's fine book. I spoke with him on the phone once, he's an interesting character.

The "certified letter to the neighbor" concept.

Bob, sad to inform you that you have failed the bar exam. You may try again in a year.

It would be interesting to visit a land where that is the national sport. I mean it might be interesting.

I'm not fond of radical Islam either, but I just think it's not a good idea to brag about such things. Maybe it sets a bad precedent? Better to talk quietly among your friends.

    Fighting The Heat!!!

Dry heat is sure better than wet heat. California vs Asia. Rain is nice in the heat sometimes, and it really cleans you out.

Though it may be taking care of needed business, it seems a little unfortunate to me, bragging about killing a person. No matter who the dead person is. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/06/22/canadian-sniper-sets-world-record-with-2-1-mile-pickoff-isis-fighter.html

    Fighting The Heat!!!

51.5C is some very serious heat even for brown skins living far away. Once it got up to 45 in my shop. I found it impossible to work, not that the heat was physically debilitating, but the mental powers couldn't function. I noticed myself walking in circles. Over 50, man I don't know...

    How'd it go today?

A guy brought me a Stihl 023 leaking gas. It was completely missing the tank vent thing, just the bare plastic nipple was sticking out. A carpenter out of work, I ordered him a Chinese one. Hell, they are almost free and no charge for international shipping. :dontknow:

I'm not referring to anyone in particular, but asking a question of what seems a likely possibility for someone. I have no idea who doesn't honestly pay their taxes. I always pay them myself in two countries, so as a reference I know it's at least doable.

    How'd it go today?

Great gift. I need a hedge trimmer too. Some gardener friends tell me to get a light one. They have boxes of electric Ryobis, saying that they burn them up. A gas one seems cool.

What I'm questioning, Justin, is the morality of people being critical of others for one offense, while giving themselves a pass for another. It seems like you are saying that it's a matter of getting caught or not whether that's a question. Well, it's one way to look at it, people can think...

I wonder how many people so critical of others that break immigration laws, have willfully cheated on their taxes? That's fraudulent criminal activity and a felony offense, nothing to really give yourself high marks for or be at ease about.

    How'd it go today?

My worst slivers aside from that one was when I was a kid and rode my bike into a bunch of palm fronds staked up on a sidewalk, and the tips broke off in my knee. My dad was an aspiring doctor but he never went to medical school. God his sliver removal sucked.

    The Official Work Pictures Thread

When I was in my teens I helped someone reclaim some old bricks for their patio. I lifted up too many at one time and that night in bed my left hip was really aching bad. Ever since that time my left hip will start aching again from time to time, especially if i bend over too much. Got it...
