Gear Maintenance -- how do you & how often.

I'm referring to the smaller items, saddles, ropes, carabiners, etc.... Since I sweat like a madman, I'll either bucket wash or take my saddle to the laundry mat. I'm worried that the salts will start to destroy the stitching, or subtly break down the nylon fibers in key places. My...

Any reviews on the Elvex specs from Treestuff?

What I look for in safety glasses is an absence of a lower frame. My sweat pools in the bottom of full framed glasses. As I look down then up, the sweat swirls and stains the entire lens.

    Bad chainsaw habits

Yeah, I better clarify a bit so as to not come across that way. Again, at a later point I will share how he came to the business of arboriculture. I didn't know- per se that my saw would start back up. But I do have confidence in my things cause of the extreme care I lend to them. I was running...

Cool. There's never a moment I'm not wearing mine. On the ground, wherever. But it gets hot hot hot and humid here, wondering how it would fare -being it would never leave my head. Does it vent well?

    Tommie Copper Clothing

Good idea, I've actually got a jawbone lying around somewhere that my brother kicked me down. I stopped using it when I heard a number of people busting the chops of those who used them. I know, I'm shallow like that. I think I know where it's at----- damn bro, now I'm gonna be thinking...

    Bad chainsaw habits

So the last removal I did, I was bucking up the log and after a few hours and my last tank fill, it didn't want to start. So I asked for my employer for his. He looks at me funny and said that he didn't bring it. I said you always should bring it, regardless if I have one or not. He answers...

    Oak Alley Plantation

Love the Live Oaks! They are pleasure to prune. The VA center in Madeira beach has a cemetery with lots of old growth Live Oaks lining the grounds. From what I remember it's the heaviest of wood.

    Tommie Copper Clothing

I hear ya. When mine last acted up I broke down a picked up a brace with a dial that would tighten and loosen with a few turns. When it hurt -I would crank that thing down as much as it could. By squeezing it like that -at least I was in control of making it hurt. Mine is at its worst...

Cigarettes- do you, don't you, quitting or forgetting.

Started smoking, for 7 years -then quit for nearly 15 years, only to start up again for another 3 years. I stopped smoking April of 2013, so I'm coming up on a year soon. But what I did take up -was the electronic ciggies. Don't know how long I'll continue to do that, but I like smoking. I...

    Writing estimates

My employer writes his estimates out. When I do work on my own, I go electronic. I like being able to create customer files and with a click, check past work prices I've quoted them.

    Brendonv's Custom Chip Box Build

For the chip truck we used, my boss converted an old Ryder truck. Chopped a few feet off, put in a discarded county electrician trucks metal gear storage box then added a hydraulic PTO dump. It was beautiful. Always ran, A gloss 'almost UPS brown' paint job -with tan vinyl decal down the box...
