What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

90s for a few days. Coolvest ice packs without the vest came out for my daughter while laying in the shade.

    PSA: Check Your Passwords

Is that math factually correct? Why 2 to an exponential power?

    Considering some springboards

I find being 4' taller to be helpful, rarely. Being 10' tall can be veery niiize (Borat haha).

    Considering some springboards

I rarely pull mine out, but super useful when applicable. I'll get a picture. You can fabricate one reasonably easily, I think.

    PSA: Check Your Passwords

I use a pattern. Something from the home page of whatever I'm signing-into, in capitals, a 3 letter word in lower case, 4 numbers and a punctuation symbol. Is that strong enough? How often do you change PWs?

    Sawbuck project

I built a sawbuck from scratch. My converted (long) pallet sawbuck is on its last legs. I have been thinking of how do build it for working height, sawing, loading and unloading. I'd been lazily trying to figure a design that would allow wood to fall directly into a wheelbarrow. This one...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

I'm going to be pulling Cool vests out this week and install the A/C in the window for the high 90s that are coming. My house is shaded! Was 90 in town, so probably 80⁰ here. Still cool in the house from overnight air being pulled in, then shutting the house up.

    Northern California Fires

I'm curious how much of that is back- burned, or whatever, to establish a fuel break from a road or other feature. Some areas looked black on the ground, with green trees.

    Small scale logging

I bought my log arch from a small FSC tree farm down the road. They skidded logs behind quads with 2 different arches, then hiring a self- loader. They are done loggng until final harvest.

    Happy 4th of July!

Happy to hear that, Cave! Happy 4th everyone! My daughter is home for (2) 3-week summer stints. Been gone since Saturday. Had a covid exposure, so our bbq with Gf/ parents/ kids plans are shot. Might go to Lake Cushman on a rock climbing trip and lake time.

    Logging The Blast Zone

I'll look forward to watching, later. My neighbor Charlie said that there was a lot of filing involved. Forget square grind.

    Cutting bushel is hard!

Really hot water run over affected areas had given me hours of relief at a stretch.

    How'd it go today?

Final run up to a summer vacation starting Saturday. Today, a little final chipping onsite for finishing a 21 hazard tree contract for an HOA. Friday might have multiple snow-bent birches to prune. Not sure what I'll get into tomorrow. New part-time college guy went home sick yesterday in...

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

Never used one, interested to hear the review. How heavy? How much power? How expensive? Looks like an ice ax handle.

What Non Essential Gear Do You Think Is Worth Owning?

When I huck a log, I definitely let go of one and/ or the other, if the tool won't release and it might tweak a joint. Extended reaching, less bending, ergonomic grips.
