    Sunscald

Interesting. I have seen that before as well while passing through your part of the country but never thought twice about it. Sunscald is a huge problem here, I am going to read a bit about this whitewash. Though I am skeptical initially, especially the part about latex paint. Seems like that...

    Sunscald

As a kid I remember thinking this area was weird because everyone had their trees painted. It fell out of popularity and now every tree whose canopy doesn’t shade the west side of the trunk is fried. Started posting on various local fb groups to increase awareness.

Hey, I just signed up here. Seeing a lot of familiar folks from Ope and Treebuzz, on @davidwyby ’s recommendation I thought I’d see what’s going on here. Looks like a cool place to hang out. I’m a timberfaller that owns a tree service in the Sierra’s. Looking forward to reading all the stuff here.

It' a Yotul 602 knockoff. Several companies made them, and I don't recognize the side panel casting, so can't offer more than that.

The Humboldt is primarily for speed of production

Would it help or hurt to pull that chain out at this point?

People… Do we need an auto enthusiasm thread? Someone left a headache around 20’ up this tree… Ancient firewood cutter. Wooden table on the left swings. I might adopt it.

Climbing the tree vs climbing a rope in the tree

You're not concerned about damaging the tree if you're pruning?

    The Official Work Pictures Thread

Light glaze, groundie must have let it run too much. I was not in my usual truck and was short on gear. I hadn’t expected to rig, and that arborplex is somewhat disposable. I had planned on it being a Natural crotch rigging rope, but forgot how nasty the surface of oak is. I have a difficult...
