WD40 is a water displacer...not a good lubricant. Use an actual lubricant and see if that helps.

When I started recreational climbing, I used an old automatic (spring loaded/self winding) fly reel to drop a weight to the ground, marked the line and measured it when I came down. Doing this several times shortened my guesstimation learning curve. Now I mostly go by how much rope or throwline...

That's my thought as well....starting to like it. Nick, any chance of a video with it being shot a few times? I keep visualizing the tubing jumping off the hooks every couple of shots.

I've used the ISC Fixed Sideplate Micro Pulley and the DMM Pinto Pulley with good results. The advantage of the more expensive Pinto is that it's becket is life support rated and has clearance to attach a biner. Not important to me but might be nice for work positioning.

Correct. Also, the HH advances well while ascending with your chest harness/neck lanyard/etc. either clipped to the bridge ring with a pulley or to a tether on the top of the biner. Where I find the use of a pulley out performing, is when tending slack by hand as when limb walking or climbing limbs.

I've used a dynamic lanyard rec climbing because "it was what I had" at the time. You're not going to notice any shock absorption with such short lengths.

I think in most of the world, the "independent scientists" receive their paychecks/grants from politically charged government agencies, liberal colleges, big business or other groups with an agenda. Produce science that meets expectations or lose your paycheck/grant. Independent?.....rare...
