    St. Patrick's Day Oak Removal

Here is a video of a large oak my partner Jeff and I took down this weekend. Jeff climbed and whittled it down to the spar. I took over from there for the crane. It was a fun day for sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le08Fpox_x0

    Stihl MS 170

You have a fuel problem and if the saw isn't too old, just take it back to the dealer and have them sort it out via warranty. I imagine your carb is a little gummed up or just plain junk. If those fix jet carbs aren't close to perfect, it hell to get them straight. I usually just find another one.

    Anyone using a Jonsered 2172 or Husky 372 X-torq

The intake boot is split, unlike the 575/576 that use a separate setup with strato tubes. As for the idle, I believe their was a service update for these saws as some people were having problems with starting. Maybe ask you dealer if their was an service bulletins for it. I read about it over...

Chipper Tires, what are you running?

It ended up 430 out the door. So that wasn't too bad. Now I need to find a radiator shop worth a hoot to fix mine on the 250xp.

Chipper Tires, what are you running?

Ouch, I'll know what mine cost today. I ordered some over the phone from a local tire shop and they got skidsteer tires instead of the highway treads. So we fixed that and I'm getting these, 12X16.5...

Chipper Tires, what are you running?

Here is what I'm looking for guys, got a couple leads here locally that I need to investigate: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-Tire-12-16-5-Goodyear-Custom-Hi-Miler-12x16-5-F-12-Ply-Trailer-High-Tread-/280803764168?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item41613567c8

Chipper Tires, what are you running?

That might be an option. The 16.5's are the stock size.

Chipper Tires, what are you running?

Yes, have had no luck finding anything remotely close to being heavy enough in 15". The 16.5 with the extra width and the heavy load rating makes it an odd tire to find. What size and brands are people running? I'm try to drum up some brands and model numbers to give to local tire shops.

Chipper Tires, what are you running?

Hey guys, have a new to me 250xp that needs tires desperately. I have a set of 15" rims and a set of 16.5 rims. Supposedly it had 33x12.5x16.5 stock. So, what kind of tires are you running on your chippers? I would like the wide tires so we don't make ruts easily, but I'm open to any advice...

    Business Question

That's how I see it. I'll invest in equipment over labor whenever possible. Not only do I save my body, it's just too hard to find good, reliable workers. IMO, it's easier to find reliable equipment.

    The Truck Thread

Yes, my mistake. EGR delete was what I was referring to. Looks like lumberjack know his stuff as well! Thanks for the info. There are a million threads about 6.0 at the diesel sites.

    The Truck Thread

Think about doing the DPF delete on the 6.0 motor. The emissions stuff really clogs them up and gets them too hot. Lots of turbo and headgasket failures out there with the 6.0. Nice truck though! I gotta post up some pics of the 11t crane my buddy and I bought in December.

Bought some like new Buckingham Climbing gear

Post some more pics of the saddle. Might be a linesman belt or an old school tree saddle. I work with a guy that has been doing tree work for 25+ years and his saddle looks very similar to that. He's only had 2 saddles his entire time. He's old school (ties a suicide knot, tautline with 1 over...

    Anyone using a Jonsered 2172 or Husky 372 X-torq

I have a 2172 in pieces! LOL It lost the piston pin circlip and took out the topend (bought it this way). The XT is supposed to run quite well, better than a regular 372. They aren't a lot of differences, they basically just stratofied the topend. I also have a 576 and numerous regular 372's...

    Saw Bars

I like the look of that. Wouldn't mess with any adjustment holes and what not. I had a bailey's one, but gave it away with a saw I sold.

    MS201T

The 3410 is a decent saw, but I believe they just discontinued them and they are a reed-valve motor, which is slower reving saw. The performance will be a disappointment if you are used to a 200t. As for the guys with the racing 201t, I'd just take it to the dealer and want them to clean the...

Mod shop near Ohio? Need work on ms460 and 200t

Totally different saws there. Look at the videos of the recent 460 and 362 Eric did. Impressive. Scott's saws look really good too, and I would love to own one. He's gotta be the most popular port guy going right now. That 372xpw is crazy fast too. Lastly, treesling'r might be another...
