Headed our way. Hope it looses some steam before it gets here. Our road looses power pretty often. Have a generator but afraid to run fridge on it because it is not an inverter.
The Hill Country was the coolest place I saw in Texas. I don't know what you would do there for work. A bud and I went to Houston in 77. He was desperate for a job. Me not so much. We were there in March and April. I knew a summer there was not something I wanted to do.
We were heading down to Texas right after the Blizzard of 77. I think we were in northern Kentucky. Light fluffy snow on the interstate. I was driving a pickup with a slide in camper on it. I did the cut back and forth test. Not a bit of slip. Could not believe traffic had slowed to about...
Blizzard of 77. It will be talked about for years to come. Snow didn't fall, it blew in from across Lake Erie and drifted over houses.
The blown snow was so fine you could walk on top of it. You could drive on top of it just long enough to be hopelessly stuck. When they plowed the roads...
Too nice for this time of year. 50s yesterday and today, sunny, tomorrow 60 an sunny. It always feels like we will end up paying later for this kind of weather now.
It has been a very mild this winter up to yesterday. Arctic blast for a couple days with nice strong winds to make it more pleasant, but then back in to the 40s pushing 50 next week. Not a typical winter. Cuts down on the fuel to keep your house warm. Heating oil is still over $5 last I heard.
Soggy and dreary here also. Might get some sun tomorrow for a change and some freezing at night also. It would be nice to not have mud. Bunch of dead ash pecker poles spanning my creek I have to get out before they cause a log jam. Did one in the slop the other day and made some ruts.
70's today and tomorrow. Got to get the bike out for maybe the last rides. It has been foggy day and night here on and off for the last few days. Almost a week. Living close to a Great Lake.
couple hard freezes in a row. Spider flower has survived surprisingly. Cauliflower still growing. Got it in quite late because of how dry we were. Hopeful I will get some small heads anyway. Farming is always a crap shoot. I quit growing it to take to market a couple years ago. More work...
Summery here also. 86 yesterday, 80's predicted for today. We were wet just 10 days ago. Breeze and heat dried things right out.
Lilacs were hardly showing. All of a sudden almost full bloom.
Mid 50's already and they are talking high 60's for this afternoon. It will feel like summer. Washed some windows I have been waiting to have a warm day for. Got some more to do.
What a mixed up winter we have had. Better than getting stuck in a rut. Snow, cold, rain, and warm. Glad I am...
