Any Rope Wrench or Hitch Hiker users here?

"the components themselves move, interact and each and every component will make a difference" "sometimes it is the little things" I'm sure learning these lessons since starting SRT 2 years ago. Even with all the added equipment set up correctly for SRT, sometimes a suttle movement or...

Any Rope Wrench or Hitch Hiker users here?

I ended up making a pulley out of stainless, none of the pulleys I had would work. Turns out length is pretty critical. To short and the rope gets stuck between pulley and bridge ring , to long and it hits the HH body before the carabiner slides up the groove to release. Tried it out, it works...

No, but I remember seeing it on this thread somewhere. I thought most people gave up on that, so I never pursued it. I will check it out. thanks

Been tying shorter hitches so I made a shorter tether for my RW , old tree Stuff one was 13" ,this one is 8.5" . Man, sure makes a difference when your going out on limbs, seems like theres way more room to grab the rope above than just the 4 1/2 inches I gained. More compact too. Just wish I...

Its the inner part of a used OMC, Johnson,Evinrude remote control cable. Stainless steel tough as hell to bend but does not break, great for all kinds of uses. If you have any boat repair shops around they just throw them away when they replace with new cables. I've got plenty on hand and would...

On tending various devices I've always just used my lanyard, but that is a pain in the ass having to adjust it every time after you tie in. I hate having anything around my neck so I recently figured out I can just throw a Petzl torse over my shoulder instead of around my neck. Just leave it...

Oh good. I do like your line of thinking on this, I've had my HH for a couple of weeks now and really liking it except for the slack tending. Be real nice to have a pulley in the system.

I don't have a chest harness but I gave your method a try with the OTS lanyard,It worked great ! thanks for the tip. I am used to climbing on the rope wrench and feel much more familiar with what ropes, cords, hitches work together with that. The HH is a different animal . The way I see it is...

Any Rope Wrench or Hitch Hiker users here?

Just a couple of observations and a question about the HH; when using the tending loop made from cordage that I ordered with the HH it was fat enough that it was pushing up against the stopper knotts and forcing the dogbone into the rope when pulling up slack from a limb walk. Also when tending...

Kernmaster, Tendril, Velocity,Yale 11.7, Vector 11mm are what I have on hand. Most are well used; broke in. Seems like most people Tie the same Hitch with the HH so that would make things less complicated, looks like just dialing in the right length ? Im 200# geared up without saw. Pitchy,yes...

Anyone tried out the 8 or 9mm Epicord and Kernmaster with the HH? I just tried both cords with the RW and I swear they tend better than the RR, especially the 9mm epi, grab Every time to.

anyone hand tending the HH on ascension? maybe backasswards but I've been tending my RW by hand with short strap and using a short fixed cord to tend the knee ascender instead of a bungee. easy switch over and not much to store.
