0*F right now. Might hit 5*. Windy. We have about 2' of snow right now. We haven't been getting hammered like the East end of the state.

Two new pumps would cost about $450. They might as well cost a million for all the likelihood of $450 showing up around here.

Around zero for tonight. Supposed to be -15 Monday night and windy. One of my circ pumps for the OWB is too small, I might have to have some supplemental heat in the woodstove to keep the house up to temp. OWB can put out the heat, but I can't get it into the house fast enough.

Single digits around here. We got maybe 7", but it's blowing around now. Not too much drifting.

It's been warmer the last couple of days, low 30's. Might be a big storm tomorrow night.

32 and raining. Roads suck. Driveways are just about impossible to navigate.

I've done some logging down to about 0F, but the chance of a breakdown goes up as the temp goes down. I don't envy people who are running machinery at 30 or 40 below.

I only do my firewood chores when it's really cold, and I try to get enough ahead on the warmer days. I like it to at least be mid 20's and sunny to run the mill.

They didn't worry too much about oil consumption in the '50's. 2"x4" walls with insulation that has gotten waterlogged. Ceilings are a little thicker, but not much. I can't afford to do anything about it right now. I'd like to tear it down and build a small well insulated timber frame. Or better...

My house is too poorly insulated. There is 400 gallons in the boiler, which does give some buffer, but not enough to go all night.
