The gaff rigs that spur climbing competitors use are nothing like what a working climber has. Very specialized, and worthless to work from. Pivoting spurs mounted nearer to the toes, usually.

I mentioned before I'd like to see timbersports done with real working climbers using real working gear. Not timbersport athletes that practice solely on regulated equipment and scenarios. It would be a fun day having the local treecos get together and compete. It would be hard preventing people...

The rule is, fastest time wins. You don't get demerit points, or time penalties, for arriving on the ground injured, or permanently disabled, or dead. Just like the NFL, the NHL, or even pole vaulting :D.

I think fox are harmless and nice to watch. Not like coyotes. Got lots of woodchucks I would like to feed some lead to.

You might be talking about Indians in the west. I just have to remember that I chose to live amongst the foxes. Back in the day...I used to kill everything that was annoying. I still do...but I used to as well.
