I would think it couldn't hurt. Right on cue my units didn't work worth a crap today in the rain. The mic's would barely pick up an audible voice with tons of background noise. Almost as if the noise cancelling was working in reverse? They're drying completely out by the fire in the shop right...

I'm getting some static too, so I'll try this. I had to glue my units onto the helmet mount already though, otherwise they would pop off the odd time. Always charge in the truck cab so no big deal.

The bulk of the smh10 has been a non issue for me. And the big button on it is nice for with gloves on.

For the noise canceling to work best it's very important to have the mic positioned properly. Little arrow/pointy side out and mic in front of mouth. Otherwise I've found you have to turn it up to loud to hear the person and you're turning up the background noise too.

Comms. There's no going back. Our local city arborist checked out my set-up and had their purchaser look into it and now they're demoing some 'arborcom' unit from Europe? Sounds about three times as much and not as good. First off they are permanently mounted in a ear muff so I would assume...

Demo? No one needs to demo these. They work. Not a single person I recall has said they have even the slightest bit of regret buying them.

Comm units. In use daily still. Glued the mics fixed the first little issue of the sucky Velcro. Also the way it's mounted on my forestry set ups the unit can pop out of its holder. Glued the clip and zero issue since. Both units charge on the dash plugs in the boom overnight and never an issue...
