It's a double edged sword. I like ovals cause they're symmetrical, and no corners to lock gear into. but they are harder to determine orientation.

You have to download the clusterfvuck of a manual to find the specs for it(25kn, 10kn, 7kn), but they make sure they point out it's blue and green on the webpage specs list. Good thing they have their priorities straight! :^S I'd like to have a compact oval or two, but I only use Rock Exotica...

The best mine can do stock is analyze charging patterns, stop at 80%, then do a speed run to top it up to 100% before you take it off charge. Think overnight charging. It can also stop charging after 3 days, and will limit charge to 80% til you take it off charge. Both options are lame.

Here's something a little different. I got this in the mail today. I ordered two units, and they came with a free usb cable... https://chargie.org/ My biggest reason was for my new internet phone. I want to limit charging to prolong battery life. This should be built into phones, and it can be...

I've read of that, but haven't seen it in action. I meant to make some attached dowel sticks, but it slipped my mind. I'll have to keep my eyes open around the house for the parts.

Well, I kinda want the comparison to the Husky. I like your new one cause it's optimized for climbing, and no hook to remove. But if the Husky works better, that's what really matters.

If anyone wants this particular brand, this outfit looks like the place to buy in the US... https://steetz.com/ I'm patiently awaiting Mick's review to make a decision :^D

You were using a Husky previously, right? Have you used this one yet to form a preference? I've played with the idea of getting a felling lever. and I always come to "Dunno..." and drop the idea for awhile.

My backup camera I linked in the deals thread came yesterday, and I got it mounted today. It's a potatocam, but I think I'll get more use out of it than I first imagined. I mounted it to a harborfreight magnetic toolbar I had gotten free one time, and that'll let me put it on the back of the...

I hate phones so much. My anxiety level shoots up if I have to type more than a couple words. It's cool having that much computing power in my pocket, but anything that involves typing is a non fun chore.

Til I see the video, the only thing I can say is "It looks complicated". The main appeal to me of moving rope is the simplicity of the setup. Rope, a piece of hitchcord, a pulley, and I'm good to go. I may or may not use a foot ascender. I typically use it when I can hit a lowish tie in with a...

The Endurance is cool looking. I know of AtlanticBraids, but haven't used their rope. I think they have a good reputation. They just aren't one of the big dogs in North American ropes. If I saw something from them I really liked, I wouldn't have a problem buying from them.

Yup. That's my intention with mine after my Vertex shield gets thoroughly trashed. I have that mesh also, which replaced the steel mesh it came with. I like the heavier coarser screen. The fine mesh lights up when sun hits it right, and makes it hard to see. edit: The fine mesh also plugs bad...

Do you use the Husky face mask with the muffs? That's my intention with mine eventually. I have the one made for the Vertex, but it's wearing out, and I'm not super fond of the new Vertex mounting system. It's kind of fiddly, and doesn't always properly lock in place. I have a Husky forestry...

I ordered a visor for it from TreeStuff for $46 shipped. Sticker price was $38, but I don't really need anything to get me to $100 free shipping. That's still cheaper than the new Vertex stuff, and I figured I should buy now while they're still available. Getting greedy and waiting for a better...

What do you think of the air circulation in the Protos? I was toying with the idea of a Kask, but a couple people here said they stink, and are hot. I can get around stink with cleaning, but hot's a huge nope. I like the Petzl cause it's suspension based(no foam), and has huge vent holes. It...

I used to go almost every week, especially when my daughter was little. I've gotten out of that. There really isn't much I need, and don't really need to be accumulating more stuff. My yearly average now is probably once a month. Twice a month if you include the tool consignment shop. I almost...
