Well she transplanted it herself, and thought (hoped) it was an oak until it leafed out. I've adopted it, and replaced it with a little Northern Red Oak.
I'm not 100% but I think it's a blueberry bush. Looks like a wild Northern Low bush (Vaccinium angustifolium) after a bit of research...
Any one have a guess? It was taken amid numerous oaks and red pine here in the U.P. Owner is not sure, and neither am I.
