Just remember rope is a consumable and should be replace regularly. I’m not saying that line is burned up, far from it. I often get the impression a lot of tree peeps keep their lines forever. After 10 trees and say $20grand in gross revenue a $150 line can be replaced often.

in theory. In reality I don’t think he would get near her as she is really reactive towards German Shepherds. She was pinned by one when she was a puppy and always seems to try and attack them. Then there is the few thousand miles between us. Other than that I can’t see an issue 🤪

Makes sense. Was it from catching a top or heavy 'positive' lowering?? It's got a lot a of life in it, but it's just not as strong as before.

Climbing the tree vs climbing a rope in the tree

The ergonomics are better. I'm definitely for efficiency, however I'm thinking career long marathon not daily sprints. I have taken an hour for a hard shot at 80'. That's where the work was, 2 large fir branches to prune from over the house. It wasn't a tree to advance from the bottom...

    How'd it go today?

I don't see the chain on my phone. If the chain dangles without girdling, it's a warning.

Our youngest daughter is doing a two-week class at Dauphin Island Sea Lab. They are partnered with the University of North Alabama where she is attending. So we hitched up the camper and came south for a few days to see her and the beach. Brought our middle daughter and her three kids along. Got...

I don’t think I have ever seen a whitewashed tree here, ever. I have seen sunscald on trees that have had heavy canopy work or storm damage, mostly young ornamental trees.

Maybe keep the tubes suspended a couple inches off the ground like I seen em do with plastic mesh used to keep buck deer from rubbing off the bark

Apple orchards do it. The other way the protection is done is by using PVC tubes. The problem is rodents like to make a house at the bottom of the tubes
