We were too far away to use the jib. Maybe we could’ve but never even checked the charts.
And I don’t carry a jib on my crane. It does affect capacities having it stowed.
The class wasn’t that hard but I’ve had a lot of operating experience for other machines and I was the go to “rigger” for the crane op when I was in construction.
@lumberjack chart is not favorable at 100’ but better than the 38/127. He has a jib but at that radius it’s no advantage. Jibs...
I still feel I should do it everyday. I’ve been slacking on it lately and I’m mad at myself for it. At the least I splash my face in it every morning. It’s amazing the wake up just that brings.
The sauna is on my list to acquire. I can’t remember the company name but they have the “Eddie” and...
...almost two years now. Lately I’ve been slacking a lot which I’m not proud of. You would think that’s it’s not a big deal to get into that water (43*F today) after doing it for so long. I haven’t been in there for 4 days and I’m terrified. I’ve been in my garage putting it off for hours. I...
Absolutely. I like the length of boom. He has three 38 tons with the same length but capacity goes way down. The 40 ton grove actually has higher capacity at around 70’ radius because there is one less boom section to account for. I would be happy with this crane being the one I use. Rick is my...
I haven’t really made it a point to eat more protein. I do eat my three eggs most mornings though. Mostly I’ve just been cutting out as much processed and ultra processed as possible.
The gym I do BJJ at is holding an adult fit class and this is what we did a few weeks ago. Mostly body weight stuff with some kettlebells. Doesn’t look like much till one actually does this. 30-60 second rest between rounds. After three weeks of these types of workouts I can say that I feel...
We were a bit stretched out yesterday. Trees were tall and crane was set up downhill. This pic was taken after I had negative rigged the top and then attached the crane to it to fly it away. Makes for a long day when the highest we were good for was 3800#’s.
I was reminded today that I despise working in the snow. Only 4 inches but that’s enough for me. Spent the day chasing dead wood in two large trees. Then got a start on a large maple reduction.
Started going on Saturday mornings to a local F3 group. Light weight with many reps in a short time seems to be the thing they do. Add some running in there as well. My arms will probably hurt for another day or so. Legs aren’t to bad this week. I’m off for two weeks at the end of the year so...
On the last glamping trip of the year. 60 F and 25mph winds today. Would be beautiful with out the wind. Made cooking breakfast a challenge but we made it work. I might have to switch out propane tanks tonight for the furnace. The wife and kids are having a good time so I’ll survive.
Back to work today. Three big ass white pines. Estimator missed that the septic was close. Made access a pain. Also neighbor was not happy that we were taking her trees down. Property pins were clearly marked and clearly not hers. To make things better the temps dropped and it snowed all damn...
I often put on a back pack with 25 lbs in it to do things around my house. I did about 19000 steps yesterday with a pack on at the trade show in St. Louis. We shall see how today goes
Today went well. Removed three big ass clump river birch trees. Finished around two. Did some office stuff and now I’m getting ready to go trick or treating with the kids. They can walk while the wife and I drive the side by side around.
