That's a good looking knife. Nice scales, and I like the way the steel looks.

Got a large scratch n dent portawrap from arbsession for $93 shipped(qualifies as a deal I think). I wanted one to keep in the truck, and I kinda wanted a large one. The one I have is a medium. I bought it cause it was specced for ⅝" rope, and I figured I didn't have any business rigging bigger...

An nk b&c for my 2511 and a PrisonBlues hickory shirt... I'm hoping for a performance boost from the b&c and the shirt is a replacement for my work shirt. Maybe... I could end up liking it too much to beatup at work. I rarely buy new clothes. Most of my stuff comes from the thriftshop, but I...

...salt off the straps, and remove oils from the sweatband which don't feel so good, and I suspect may contribute to zits. A little ERC oil on the *back* side of the sweatband might be nice, but I really like ERC. A little goes a long way...

No real way around that. I wash mine roughly quarterly, with the four times clustered tighter around the warm weather season. I use water, and Dr Bronner soap to wash it. Massage into the textiles, especially the sweat band. Rinse and air dry thoroughly. When you're finished wearing the helmet...

Speaking of which, I need to wash my helmet. Outside looks good enough, but the suspension could use a good cleaning. Maybe I'll do that today.

It would be a little fiddly, but you could hitch a ring above the unit for a cradle throw. Might even be able to put a ring on the unit itself, but that would be somewhat destructive.

I noticed that also. I cradle throw 90%+ of the time, and I wasn't excited seeing their solution, but it isn't something I've ever tried, so I reserved judgement. Glad to hear it worked well for you.

I tried this once on a locust. It didn't work. The slot the throwline was in was too deep, and rope wouldn't ride up.

I'll be interested in hearing what you think of it. If it works as indicated, that's something I'd like to get.

I like the honkin' big bumper. It's a nice platform that can turn into anything you like. Once I was done pissing myself off by beating my legs on it, I think I could get a lot of use out of it. The winch is icing on the cake.

:^D You may be right. I have a bunch of trees dropped that need to be dealt with chipper or not. It would be great to be able to deal with the chippables, but if not, they still should be piled somewhere, and the stems moved. Good weather's coming to an end. It'll be awful here shortly.

What a $500 box looks like... That's twice what I paid for my pc, and it does all kinds of shit. The only job the box has is to say "Spark now!". Debating on driving up Sunday to install it. Weekends are already short. Dunno if I want to ruin half of it by getting pissed off. I may wait til...

I got that much cause it's so cheap($321 shipped with coupon). My immediate desire was 200' for light rigging, but I feel that with it's low price, light weight, and low bulk, I'll find a lot of other uses for it, and it's right there to grab as needed.
