What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

    That's not a full refrigerator, Stephen...that's Fibber Magee's closet :D.

    Restart trouble with 064

The poor fellow was trying to cut 30 to 40 inch diameter logs with a Stihl 311, upon which he had ignorantly bolted a 32 inch bar...apparently thinking a long bar was the sole answer to his needs. The wide eyed look he held as the 064 cut straight and true rounds off in 1/10th or less the time...

What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

That's hard to follow for me; the full fridge is like a full pantry, a full root cellar..."we are not going to starve anytime soon" is a pretty comfortable place to be, in my book.

    Rope Runner Pro

Rich, you could do like I have done...I admitted to myself that I would never fly through the crown of a big oak like Kevin, or even close to as well as many less gifted arbs. But I console myself with the bald fact (I tell myself this repeatedly, hoping it is true :)) that Kevin will never...

Oh jeez, Scott. That would put a lesser man in a wheelchair.

What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

This is a point of view I don't get...not saying it's an invalid one. I know one or two otherwise reasonable folks who don't much like cooking. Don't spend much leisure time with them, I have to admit ;). And I do understand the perspective that cooking is more rewarding when there are family...

    Restart trouble with 064

Somehow I let this thread die...well 'eff me, it's 9 years ago. Remarkable :D. The end result of it came down to pure operator error. The 064 does not feature a half choke ignition switch position, something it took me far too long to cotton to. In my ignorance, I was full choking it when...

    The Official Happy Birthday thread!!!

Pete, you old dog...and I have to push it a bit...you REALLY are slowly creeping into old dog status :D. Best to you, my friend! Have a nice bottle of red, on me...I'll pay you when I see you ;). Hope all the family, the lady J and dogs, are well. Best to them, too.

    Lanyard Innovations

Seems like they would be better in the one thing you mention, over a spliced eye. I'm sure they are safe. I've used one loaned to me for a few days, but like you, I never have purchased any. It worked fine, but was a little long for my taste, and there was nothing to be done about it :).

    Lanyard Innovations

Eye spliced hitch cords are nice in some ways, but suck more in others, to my mind. The prime advantage of spliced eye hitch cords is the compact finish. It may well be the only advantage over knotted eyes. Knotted eyes, on the other hand, have many advantages. They are much cheaper, are...

    How'd it go today?

Well said, my good friend. You and I are on the same page...the original Hitch Hiker is mighty hard to beat for versatility. Work out a good micro-pulley slack-tending system, and a good self advancing attachment point, and it will run circles around most other SRT devices even still.

    How'd it go today?

The Akimbo, at least my early gofundme version, seems to be somewhat persnickety about working well with it's host rope. More so than some of the other newish SRT mechanical or mechanical/friction hitch products out there that I have climbed with. Dial it in right...it's beyond the moon...

New to the group (Blair Glenn)

Making videos and posting them for all to worship (OK, I'll admit that's a pretty harsh characterization :)), from a pure working man's perspective (i.e. mine:)), is ego stroking to some degree or another. Not to say I have disagreement with those who choose to do so..I just don't really get...

Agreed, Gary. The knut is a very solid and reliable friction hitch.
