    Mickey, you should post up a pic of your set up. So for your prussic, you use a prussic loop? A taut line hitch is "2 under 1 over" so I'd say it is similar to a prussic but it is tied with a tail of rope so the end of the taut line hitch is loose, unlike a prussic which has no loose end. And...

    Gotta love it- self tending and ease of tending imo is arguably the main attraction of most any hitch, mechanical or otherwise. And you don't like it :drink: "Life finds a way." You use a prussic- jc if you've used a taut line or a Blakes?
