    Meh. There's always going to be a need for experienced fellers with boots on the ground. Mechanization is always the first step in the path to automation. That said, I don't think we have as much to worry about and the fearmongers would like us too.

    Short stumps are the Bain of track machines. Most of the time if I’m working an area and there are small 2” diameter or about stumps I’ll pull them out with the grapple. Another tip is to use a clearing saw and cut the small stuff at dirt level.
