    How'd it go today?

I could disappear in the Smokies. I wish it wasn’t such a popular vacation spot. The last two times I visited I was able to wonder off by myself for a few hours for a reset.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Decent today but now starting to rain again and not supposed to stop until early Friday morning. I am at that point in life that getting a rain day will not break my heart or my wallet. Being off would be a welcomed mental health day. I need a break

Which are the most scenic E-W highways crossing the sierras?

I can honestly say, from my views of the day of my travels, that the clouds that took seat on the peaks above were surely delivering snow to high elevations.

Interesting to see all the green vegetation around the property. We're still in winter/slush season.

Doug- firs dying in a root disease pocket. Tipped 6 by hand or wedged, pulled one that had backlean, climbed one. No cleanup. For a friend. Small snags had crazy tight growth rings, up to possibly 20 ribs per inch in the tightest growth. He's retired and will make some lumber out of it...

Which are the most scenic E-W highways crossing the sierras?

Tioga, as stated, along with other high country passes, is snow and rock slide vulnerable. Lucky to be openby june even though everyone would like it sooner than Mothers Day. Sonora pass as well.

Which are the most scenic E-W highways crossing the sierras?

I'm with @Mrs.B. Tioga Pass. Here's a link to a thread with pics from the trip M and I took up that way not too long back. Also of the Bristlecone pine area to the east of there. https://www.masterblasterhome.com/threads/tioga-pass-and-bristlecone-forest-hikes.31964/#post-1170383

Which are the most scenic E-W highways crossing the sierras?

I used to live in Tahoe. Been to Yosemite some number of times. Once the high county is open, the valley will be crowded.

Which are the most scenic E-W highways crossing the sierras?

Stephen is right, all of them. Probably my favorite is Tioga Pass. We like to spend time on the east side of the Sierras following Hwy 395. Lots to see and do. Venturing off on side roads along 395 surprises you with awesome vistas, volcanic features and beautiful lakes. Great area to visit in...
