Your friend is both smart and wise. I haven't even started a chainsaw to do a little carb adjustment or such without chaps or saw pants on in about 45 years. I'm that convinced that even the best of us can have a bad moment, and with a spinning saw chain a moment is all it takes to cause...

I can't seem to post pics, so I'll do it this way. Long story short, I had some scrap, including some Minute mount ears and an old pallet fork frame. A couple of hydraulic adapters and an hour of fab work, and we're off to the races.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

After nights in single digits and highs in the teens, 38*F today was warm. And, it was warm enough to open the hoop house to water the Swiss Chard, Lettuce, Spinach, Radishes, and Arugula.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

About the same here, it's now 10:30ish. Should hit about 50 this afternoon. Dry today and the next couple. Nice weather.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Dang warm winter here. Now I have deciduous oaks budding out. We can get snow into April. There will be carnage if it keeps up. Might be too late no matter. Shat will get broken.

Nice. For me, stacked firewood is pure utilitarianism, which has its own attractiveness when done well. That is artistry...and I am no artist and certainly don't think I'd have the patience for it :).

Burnham, I was thinking of you and the better half looking out from your house when I grabbed this screen shot. We were discussing artistic stacking somewhere.

    How'd it go today?

26,000lbs of iron is 26,000 lbs. I broke all the canopy branches off and shoved to the side once down, no cutting. Hard, brittle. Several breaks like this. 18-24” dia Tree probably could have been mostly pieced down from a taller bucket or climber. The 38’ tele wasn’t nearly tall...
