It appears to me that they had a log laid out next to that pile of leaves/debris that would have caught the fork that would have hit first. I’ve dumped some big trees onto pavement before, with plenty of logs/limbs laid out strategically to absorb impact.

Beautiful for this time of year. Sunny, mid 40s, and calm. Think I will get the bike out for one last ride. Been too busy to ride to much this year. I should be slowing down at 72, right? I guess its good to keep moving.
