Killed two firs way too close to the house to keep , and pruned a large Japanese maple away from the house and cleared thick grape vines grown into the tree while the house was vacant. Homeowner cleanup!
Helped a friend with a yard renovation ...

Chopping out huge tops is awesome but seems doable, but the idea of doing it without a double tie in blows my mind
High 30s. 25 mph wind gusting 40. Power was off this morning before light. They had it back on 40 minutes later.
They finally got off their dead asses and got the bunch of dead ash that used to take the power out every time the wind blew. They knew right where to go when it went out. Job...
Fourth day in a row of rain. Thought we might dry out yesterday, but it was pea soup fog with occasional light sprinkles until about 6pm. It's chilly, damp and dim. Wish I had my slicker and much boots, I'm getting stir crazy.
The left side hinge is not guaranteed to bend a worth while amount more than the right hinge. I've had it seemingly make no difference on some white oak. Multiple kerfs would have been better to force a slight bend in each kerfed section along the larger hinge height.
