Presidio is hiring 2 climbers $55-$65/hour federal benefits.

I only mention the Trump administration because of the current issues federal employees are experiencing and how Presidio employees might want to be clear-eyed about that situation, Brian. I cannot see where I said anything to make you think I am calling him evil. Any administration on either...

I am sorry you persist in perceiving anything related to Trump as evil. But to be fair, I also consider anything related to Biden or Pelosi or Adam Schiff to be evil. IMO Trump has much better intentions for ALL US citizens than any of the other 3 mentioned. I think he has proven that by 1...

I think you are whistling in the dark, my friend. I see that the employees are earning federal benefits, and partake in the federal retirement savings plan...to do so, they must be federal employees and as such, are within reach of the Trump administration. It is a National Park, administered...

it’s a federal entity with its own board and budget, accountable to Congress but designed to be financially self-sustaining and manage the Presidio’s lands and buildings for public benefit.

You probably won't ever catch me that far up a tree! Dan has been doing it his whole career, so she probably got lots of good 1 on 1 training quick. I cut with them a bit when I'm up there.

It is less tiring to run chiselbit and it side cuts better for falling timber. You can "steer" it through the wood some, downside being you can cut crooked more easily!

The angles of a file are fixed, the wheel can be ground to whatever. Also there is a point where a file gets into the drive links and wheels can avoid it. My hand filing exp is minimal, and grinding not much more though. Mostly going off madsen's articles, etc. (which are very good). I was lucky...

I don't know what a "wholly owned federal entity" means. Can you elaborate?

The Presidio Trust is a wholly owned federal entity. We do not take appropriations like NPS, so we are not furloughed or subject to any administrations bs. In short, we make our own money through residential and commercial leases, so we have nothing to worry about.

Of course, these days any consideration of the benefits of Federal employment must be tempered with the reality of how precarious the current political climate makes a job like this look.

Exactly why you can/may get better results, but perhaps that's just my old school attitude, really :). In truth, I only had hand filing to call on, not having access to a grinder ever. So really my opinion is not worth all that much...again :D.

Big treework she's into there. Nice little show. Frankly, I'm quite impressed. In reality, I had near 20 years as a climber and USFS C level sawyer under my belt before I was doing that level of work.
