Yesterday I somehow misread that as $5k a day.
We’re an outlier for equipment/ efficiency I reckon, but we absolutely wouldn’t work as a crew for $2000-2500/day. I’d send one of our part time guys out solo with the little excavator and/or stump grinder for that.
Even before the latest...
We’re still busy with enough work to get into October and ~35 bids to give (some are aged, which is still a problem; we’re working on a process to help with).
Could use a full time laborer that has aspirations, but we doubled down again on equipment to keep our 2.5 man operation productive.

Yep, next Sunday is when the second payment is due, we've put ~150 hours on it. We need to figure out a storage spot for the 36" outrigger pads and an easier way to move cribbing with the variety of machines we could have on a given site.
I misunderstood while we were setting up, we had more...
...a big problem, we did use the blade on the excavator to knock some dirt into a depression to average out the slope a bit. The machine has ~7* of leveling each way side to side. We were approaching the limits of the tractive effort with the slope and sandy soil (higher rolling resistance)...
Meh asphalt driveway we’ve worked on for over 20 years, sitting still, and only ~2-2.5klb pieces. Tire pressure is only going to be so much.
I don’t have the lmi readout to calculate the weight on the front axle with that pick. Empty and retracted grapple is 24.5klb.
3 years and a week or...

It’s been a couple months since the bid, I remembered needing the lift.. when I pulled up I told the guy that started the job that I could flop that across the driveway, but I’m already here with the MRT so whatever… then I saw the broken limb in another tree I was supposed to get and it...
This past Thursday. After I get more comfortable with the situation, a tree like this should take 10-15 minutes, assuming I only have to cut a couple limbs out of the way.
This cut was around ~80' at around a 35' radius. From memory the top was ~3klb.
Back in the 08 recession we were locally insulated a bit by a steel mill coming to town. Currently, an aluminum mill by the same folks is underway across the street.
We’re as busy as we’ve been since I partnered with another company making them a licensed brand of my company.
They’re a young company with a strong marketing/lead funnel with a similarly aged owner that’s a fellow dance and soccer dad. He even bought his Nifty SD64 from me end of ‘23.
