    New use for old tool

Sometimes you can't get a bottle jack into such a spot. Often, you can place a footplate, a post and a bottle jack, but if you only have to go a little ways, wedges are far better, being as they're more secure. If B only had to lift a corner a bit, wedges may well have been the only viable...

    How'd it go today?

Someday, I'd really like to purchase something you make from that. A small piece, as befits my budget, but I'd like to add something to my collection from your storied past good sir.

    How'd it go today?

A local tree crew took down the last two original trees at the house I grew up in... a double-trunk Red Maple splitting at the base and a Pin Oak suffering from BLS. That maple was the "first" tree I climbed repeatedly when I was five years old. Sixty-five years ago I was scrambling to the top...

    How'd it go today?

Lift day followed by a dentist appointment. By far the easiest, fastest, least painful extraction I've ever experienced, and it was a wisdom tooth growing almost straight sideways. Doc Karen at Yosemite Dental is a consummate professional, and I'll never have another dentist if I have my way...

    Exercise

I’ll admit that I’ve been slacking for a while now. Cold plunge 3-4 times a week but the workouts have been very sporadic. Probably the heat getting to me. I feel tired a lot and have a hard time getting up early enough to get a good work out in.i can’t help but think that my inner bitch has...

Like government, the wheels turn slow. I’ve been trying to talk them into buying Steve Connaly’s Mek but that’s doubtful. I can schedule a bigger crane if I get enough notice. Might be getting quicker response from that guy soon though. Boss has invited the rental crane guy and his wife to a...

    Retirement Trip

Looks like a net float to me. Currents run all round the ocean, no telling where it came from or how old it is without close examination and an autistic level of interest in the subject matter.

Lift day! Got a lot done on the crumbly black oaks. There's a lot left to do, but it's over a fairly busy road, and the county will want permits and road closure and flaggers and blah blah blah, so that's not part of the bid.

People would need to be prepared to be self sufficient before trying that or there won't be enough to go around even with generosity. Gardening sounds easy, but it can be quite difficult, especially without proper local co-op planning, let alone storing enough food for winter AND spring/early...

Pretty nasty emergency cherry removal the other day. Homeowner had the little strap and chain on it when we showed up. And today we are on the last of five removals with the crane. I’m a bit short of stick so Cam is about to rig the tops out Then I’ll pick the logs

which „extras“ do you find essential for a wheel-loader?

I have two BMGs, and one TNA grapple. The hoses on the TNA run through the upper mast, whereas the BMG hoses are all external.

which „extras“ do you find essential for a wheel-loader?

i‘m gonna buy a dangle grapple from a german manufacturer. they are quite affordable. bmg is not sold here, shipping and duty would probably make it a 10.000 € tool.
