I think the disadvantages of the dangle grapple are far more numerous than the Vermeer non-dangle style. I haven't tried throwing much with the Vermeer grapple, the dangle does that pretty well, but the VG is so useful, I can get into trouble with it easily. I picked up a whole small tree, too...
I must know....WHY??? Honestly curious. I've always used a hydraulic bottle jack to lift wood framing. But the wedges seem perfectly suited for the task.
we only worked 2 hours or so on this job. 1700 cuts… used up 1/3 of one little battery.
sadly it resets when you turn it off… would be interesting to know how many cuts i‘ve made after i finished all 700+ trees.
Former coworker. They borrowed this from the company we used to work at together. I saw him go by with it in the morning. I didn't know he had a license? Then it went the other way on the car hauler. No details yet.

Tie one end of rope to the log in question, put other end into a heavy duty Gibbs binered to your normal attachment (e.g. grapple bucket), groundie pulls rope tight and you then back up say 10' and boom up. Then you move forward and boom...
