Bears are intrigued by Jake Brakes. A big black bear ran across the road and up a driveway yesterday. When I clicked the Jake on, he stopped, stood up, and looked over his shoulder at me from the driveway. Must not have ever heard that before.

Hot and dusty. There is a truck and tractor somewhere in Thayer dust storm. Made me wonder what fighting in North Africa was like. Much hotter, but no humidity, just a lot of tank rounds shooting back and forth.

This morning I cut down a rather thick poplar tree in the city center. Then I went out of town and cut down that funny pine tree, the photo of which I already published here a few days ago. The wind was quite strong, but everything went well.

Solo canopy raise. My employee wasn't able to work yesterday. The show must go on. PW job for the Fire Department. It was muy caliente yesterday, so cleanup today. I took down 2 additional dead doug-fir, leaving them in the woods.

Yes. Oahu. You are right. It's been a few years and I couldn't remember. It is quite striking in person. The place is worth a stop if you are there. Good baked goods also. It probably has grown since we were there.

No I’ve not been to that coffee shop. North shore OAHU? That looks maybe like monkey pod. Not a ton of acacia here. There is ironwood or tepe? Invasive but beautiful.
