What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

A bud I grew up with fished commercially in Alaska for years. He lived in Homer. He hated crabbing. When he was off work he would go out fishing in a skiff. He landed a halibut about 2 feet shorter than the boat he was in.

You know what Jeeps call full sized trucks? Depth finders. Jeeps are an acquired taste for sure. The older ones are where it’s at but anything after 2000 is highly suspect. I know you can get a jeep upgrade to a 3/4 ton chassis and a Cummins. Those are pretty badass.

There's a nice crabbing spot with a good bottom a couple of miles away...5 min boat ride. I do have a pot puller which makes it a lot easier. Lots of good crabbing nearby. The local commercial fleet in town will catch a million pounds on a good year.

Cool pictures, great to see the TH continuing on. My climb has been winding down a bit…. I dunno. I talked to a friend, also contract climber and he said Big island is the cheapest wages, and many many younger faster guys here will work for cheaper than me. Haha. It’s a race to the bottom...

    Suburban logging with forklift

I love chokers for when I don't want something to come loose, or gathering things, but just for moving logs, shoving them around and going under with the forks is most expedient. That's the learning part, like learning to use a dangle head. Most people think of forklifts as just straight in and...

Depends on the depth of water. I usually set them in 40-60 feet so I don't have a really long pull.

    Hunting 2021

We used to have a lot in hay fields and on the side of creek banks. Since coyotes came around they have moved up around houses and barns where there is less coyote traffic.
