That’s a long limb walk. Did you stop for a rest on the way out?

Not necessarily the same tree. London Plane is Platanus Orientalis x Platanus occidentalis. Whereas, I believe the American Syc is Platanus Occidentalis. The hybrid bastardised offspring seemed to retain the annoying characteristics of its parents though. They could have at least tried to...

I have done quite a few big mingers of them. Or as they are called in the UK London Plane trees. Seed balls enough to stop chippers, have itchy eyes for days and blocked sinuses. The HSE in the UK stopped us working on them during the summer months. The leaves also have a caustic fibre on...

Over here they tend to be tall spindly things. Some wobblier than others when you get the top out of them. Edit: I bumped my GoPro on a branch that day hence a lot of the cutting is off camera. At least you got plenty of good looks at the bark. How big do they get over there?

    How'd it go today?

Funny you should mentioned that... that song out of dirty dancing - time of mylife or whatever it was called, would play for the ones who had copped and were having cheesy dances. The DJ was a dude from NY called Milo, he would stop the tune mid record like a scratcher in the decks... can I...

    How'd it go today?

Sorry for the long post, just checking out their site brought back lots of memories, good and bad. I am just waiting to pick up one of the kids after just dropping the older one at the ferry as he is going training. How times change eh? Looking back it seemed so much easier back then. LOL.

    How'd it go today?

I checked out the place just after I posted. Looks a lot different these days. Change of management and lots of new activities. I was 22 years old. In the US for 6 months and in that resort for 11 weeks. During the week there were kids from other summer camps. If we were caught with...

    How'd it go today?

Cory, in 1997 I worked in a camp/resort in Greenwich CT near Danbury. That place was called Club Getaway and I went there as part of camp America after I left Uni. I worked in a maintenance crew there. It was a camp for Jewish kids mon to Friday and a Jewish shagathon resort for adults at the...

Yes the sap can run. Depending on the time of year. Some are stickier than others. A video I made a few years ago. Are these the same as you had.

    How'd it go today?

I bought some from amazon when I lived in the Uk for camping trips. Figured it would be better for the kids. It didn’t work half a good.

Had another knackered tree to do today. Luckily we had a bit of space. One of the other guys onsite did this one and I ran the Avant. Pretty knackered tree.

I really like it Dave. I have 2 og runners which I found hard to get in with but persevered and they were a delight to climb on once worn in. The RRP was like a worn in RR without the teething troubles. I also order new bollards and springs and locking nuts from tree stuff when I got the...

When I worked in Connecticut we used to use Skin so Soft from Avon. It worked really well on ticks and biters. Made you smell nice as well.

Alistair's machine has all the bells and whistles. IIRC he even has a camera on the cutting head for accuracy.

Cory, the other guessed it. It’s a 4 SRT Chester harness. The points are good as each of my SRT devices required a different tending point for ascension. BDB, Akimbo RR, RW, RRP, it is easy enough to switch them out. The crane was a F820 from Fassi. All I can say i it was 1900 plus tax per...
