Gila? I know they can have pink, yellow, or orange patterns - not sure they get that big but hey… East coast doesn’t harbor such fauna

    The Official Work Pictures Thread

Burls, or burrs across the pond are sought after for the unique disoriented grain pattern many which create focal “eyes”. I have a few at the moment. Usually about 50% are nothing great once opened or have too many openings running through them. Some get used despite the loss of integrity for...

Fever broke last night - still coughing up a ton but hopeful this is a turning point. Watching reels and videos… Hanger for the axe you keep in your shed.

The past three days have been pretty lousy with a respiratory virus. Woke this morning feeling it lifting a bit! I really dislike not getting things done 😠 Week two for Karen who developed a secondary bacterial infection deep in her lungs. Bilateral rhonchi, and despite zithromycin and albuterol...

Not too bad - seems to hold an edge as well as most of my other knives.

Franklin M155 stud finder - does quite well with wood or steel studs, and good for tracing electrical, too The fellow up on the pick with me is a friend who was a machinist at the local Chrysler plant for 30 years. Trickiest part of the job was finding odd jobs for the less ably endowed to keep...

    How'd it go today?

Hung an 85” TV in the classroom of the local woodworking store yesterday. The sixteen 1/4” toggle bolts through commercial steel studs held a 36” x 52” piece of 3/4 plywood. The tv mount was held by four lag bolts into studs, and six smaller lags into the plywood. A total overbuild as the tv...

Burnham, It was a radio repeater node a friend had set high in a tree. They are Meshtastic, LongRange (LoRa), rechargeable and/or solar-powered, 915MHz radios which create a mesh network, passing messages from one to the next. It is an off-grid communication system which would be a way to...
