    Nice old saw and great fo those little jobs. Dump the chain - well keep it for cutting dirty timber stumps. It’s an old semi-chisel safety chain and lacks in performance in clean timber.     Don’t you have a small excavator? Invest in a rotator and grapple for it & you have solved the issue

    Nearly finished a woodland job within a nature reserve . Removal of a lot of ash with dieback, retaining some for habitat - both as whole trees and as monoliths. The replanting crew arrive Monday so we are really pushing it.

    We get diesel bug quite often these days. We have to treat every delivery with an additive, or we would be in trouble within weeks. A couple of inline fuel filters in the glove box can be a lifesaver

    In between the usual day to day stuff we have been bringing some machines in to deal with some of the more off the wall tasks - cost is high, but it solves some complex challenges and is so much safer and more productive. Sometimes it just feels like cheating !

    Nasty- I was told about it by a paramedic after I discovered I had a wasp sting allergy. Did not believe it until I hung one of each on the line - the yellow one attracted more wasps and bees for sure. Yellow jackets may not be so discerning and probably just horrible bastids whatever you wear.
