    How'd it go today?

Nearly finished a woodland job within a nature reserve . Removal of a lot of ash with dieback, retaining some for habitat - both as whole trees and as monoliths. The replanting crew arrive Monday so we are really pushing it.

We get diesel bug quite often these days. We have to treat every delivery with an additive, or we would be in trouble within weeks. A couple of inline fuel filters in the glove box can be a lifesaver

It is some state of the art machinery for sure - just glad I bring them in when needed and don’t have to pay the finance 😂

In between the usual day to day stuff we have been bringing some machines in to deal with some of the more off the wall tasks - cost is high, but it solves some complex challenges and is so much safer and more productive. Sometimes it just feels like cheating !

Nasty- I was told about it by a paramedic after I discovered I had a wasp sting allergy. Did not believe it until I hung one of each on the line - the yellow one attracted more wasps and bees for sure. Yellow jackets may not be so discerning and probably just horrible bastids whatever you wear.

I won’t wear yellow hi-vis because it attracts wasps and bees. I have only been stung at work once since changing about 7 years ago.

Nothing to do with your saw -try a shorter bar on such hard timber. It will make sharpening easier and quicker too. I would be using stem-chisel for such crappy timber

The longer I cut timber, the more I try and refine the basics - they deal with 99% Of all the problems I encounter.

Another week of storm damage completed - the last two weeks since a big storm rolled through has been intense. No great pictures, just a couple of the last two days fun and games before we started.
