Ca I read up a bit on the Cahokia mounds. Not really a city in the same way as the Mayans and Incas had, but a bit more than a hunter/gatherer civilisation, agreed.

I did a bit of googling, a lot said along those lines, pure speculation of course. I would have thought there’s plenty of fertile land in the geographical US. The Mississippi delta for example. I dunno maybe it was a cultural thing with the indigenous people.

Interesting how, until the arrival of Europeans to the americas, the only significant cities were in south and Central America. Anyone know why or have any theories?
