    How'd it go today?

I did 12 hours today and didn’t even touch a saw. Two estimates this morning, repairs at the shop (broken 1/2” tap, fml swearing lots of swearing) phone calls, invoices, hardware store run X2, picked up kids at school, made dinner, off for three more emergency calls after freak wind event, and...

Short stumps are the Bain of track machines. Most of the time if I’m working an area and there are small 2” diameter or about stumps I’ll pull them out with the grapple. Another tip is to use a clearing saw and cut the small stuff at dirt level.

All while you...

I think I may have landed my dream customer. She is slightly eccentric, yard full of mature trees, many young and ornamental trees, fruit trees, evergreens. I get a call from her who got my name from a guy who retired. The call was a basswood removal 90+’er that was split badly and threatening...

    Foot accender with spurs

IMO 5/8” is the perfect size for a flip line.

Put this poor tree out of its misery today. What looks like limbs on the right is actually the top just folded over.

    Leaner

I’d probably shoot a line in it and pull from near the opposite direction of the lean and swing it into the lay. The pull line is set like a stiff arm in football but instead of pushing you are pulling, supporting the weight. There are several good threads on controlling barberchair. The coos...
