FWIW I asked Nick from Wisconsin and he said he uses a double constrictor hitch. I think whip stitch locking it is plenty plenty…. I been using it and it’s a solid piece of kit.

These elastics are just bungee cords w the hooks slipped off…. The original binds look like these hog rings you mentioned… A mini carabiner fits perfectly.

So much to say about that. It is sad that it wasn’t used as a resource. Hindsight is a nag. The irony is now it’s a part of the base yard. Haunting….

Three strand splicing I started on the crab boat.. tying pot ties.. basically 3-4 foot dead eye slings to lash pots together on deck. We used the yellow shitty Home Depot line for it, disposable. These things are great for lashing loads of brush together for dragging.. choker leads if u will.
