Are we again referring to the Oak? I can assure you they were no where near flush cuts. The camera may make them look but the collar was visible and pruning cut in accordance.

Is this in relation to the willow in San Diego or the work we were discussing on the Oak tree?

Now I am confused. So what is the official critique of the work in the Oak tree? I am not quite sure what you are getting at. Are you saying I should have used flush cuts on the oak tree? Discussion is good.

Well it depends which school of thought you follow. The cuts in the property side were live growth and very extended limbs. Those cuts are target pruning cuts aka Shigo et al. The stubs at the back were what were called stag horned. Stone dead rock hard wood. I reduced them back to the...

Good day. Took the boys to a BJJ Open. Haakon now fights in the Adult blue belt division. He had 3 wins and 1 losses from his 4 matches. All three on the podium had 3 wins and it went back to how many advantages they had in their fights. It meant Haakon got bronze. Quite funny as he has...

Trimming Spruce, How Far is Too Far?

Any thing less than 4 would be pointless iMO. Why would you go to all that effort for basically what appears to be zero difference?

    What can you do?

I really don’t care what my neighbours do. After all it is their land and property so they can do as they please. I also expect the same courtesy as I give them. I can think of worse neighbours than potheads. What was the problem ? The smell or just them in general?

A Swedish Felling jack. Ratcheted with a winder and used for felling, lifting or support. Surprisingly handy when they are needed. https://www.hyresmaskiner.com/produkt/stalpen/

Back at it after the summer break. I have Haakon out working with me last week and this, before he goes back to study: Mostly routine stuff but this one was a bit more interesting. A pretty big storm came through 16 July and uprooted quite a few trees in my area: Turned up today to a farm...
