I am considering getting a GOPRO and was looking at either the hero white edition for $279 or the silver for $320. I am not to sure which would be better as I would use the GOPRO for arborist work as well as for snorkelling, fishing and body boarding. I am kind of leaning towards the white edition as it is cheaper and my use would be limited. Cheers WC

That is what I had thought get the more expensive one when I have some loose change. The main things that I need are a new full body harness and a second rope with the hitch climber setup so that is why I thought of getting the cheaper gopro.

I'd be interested to hear some feedback from users. I am thinking of trying to get a little more tech savvy.

I t with the basic Hero to get a "feel" for it. I did not want to throw a lot of money at something I might not like . Rendering video on an older computer running a Linux op system can be frustrating. If I get my faster unit back up and running, I will enjoy it more. I will probably never try and take it to the level like August does or some others here or that I have seen.. It is quite time consuming.

Check post #7987 here...we were covering same question about 3 weeks ago:

there is some video posted of my GoPro knockoff that seems to do dry and wet work for me...here is an excerpt from that thread:

Rich, I have two of these...GoPro knockoffs. I have been able to get some good video...in trees and underwater...comes with waterproof case and LOTS of accessory clips to attach it to helmets, belts, chest harness...lots of clip apparati. (Apparatuses)

Be sure to get the one by Afunta...there are some copies that I read about that don't interchange batteries, cases, etc. with GoPro..this one is supposed to be able to use GP stuff if you need to.

Current price is $68.90 Camera pictures at bottom...I can't figure out how to specifically place picts/videos in a post.
