While taking Evergreen ID again at the college, I'm enjoying taking some photos of tree parts, in similar fashion to the portraiture I've been tinkering with.

@ bonner 1040

Glad others are sharing some too. I just sold a Canon T2i, similar to the T3i you just posted about. I have got some superb photos from the 18-55mm lens prior to upgrading. The first photos I posted were a Canon 5D Mk II with the 50mm 1.4.

Your palm photo, reminded me of a shot from near Los Angeles ... train station. It was taken with like a point and shoot comparable to a Canon G7 (at the time) minus the bells and whistles.

We use the entry level (read: cheapest) Cannon DSLR, EOS Rebel T3 with the included 18-55mm lens

Just realized you posted T3, although both it and the T3i earn their keep.

The entire surface of this tree was covered with these suckers, from the wispy tips to the limb wood to the trunk.

Talk about a tap root! I thought this was so cool, Meg not so much.

Don't recognize the first one ... pretty cool shot though.

2nd photo reminds me of Honey Locust.

This one is an Alpine Fir twig end.

Mario,

Reminiscent of a Honey Locust but definitely not.

The T3 is a great camera, it takes way better photos than I do, if you get that. Once I have outgrown it I will consider a better one but thats a long way off.

I dont have the same artistic touch as you do Mario which is evident in the photos but it has been fun contributing. Here is likely my last batch of these from Costa Rica and probably my last for a while as I dont usually carry around my DSLR..
