That's called "capitalism". There's several members in this thread that say it's the best thing since imperial measurement. So, is capitalism good, or isn't it? Perhaps it's selective. Which capitalism is the good kind?
 
I suppose capitalism has as broad and varying a definition as socialism and communism. Seeking the good of others and seeking profit are not always the same thing.

Technically the convid-19 vax is a gene therapy. They had to change the definition of vaxxine in order to get the manufacturers of this new vaxx immunity from liability should their products kill or maim. Guess Stig didn;t learn his lesson from the tainted Polio vaxxines that likely caused his lymphoma. Did you ever research that Stig. Are your immunization records available? This is where worldview really does matter. You just took an experimental vaxxine. With all your other health conditions that could prove to be fatal.

I'm not blaming the messenger.....easy now. What I am saying is that there are plenty of home remedies and quack docs out there selling snake oil. Calls to the poison control center are up. Murphy's dewormer is one of them along with multiple disinfectants. Including peroxide. Do what you want. Best plan is to avoid getting infected. Why inhale peroxide prophylactic? We all no many md's are FOS. I'm not supporting big pharma either. I do support vaccines.

covid has been muddied by whatever your political affiliation is. This is unfortunate.

calling people sheep for wearing a mask is pretty dumb. Most people in my neck of the woods are wearing masks out of respect for each other.

I understand there is a version of cold/flu out there wreaking havoc, but I believe the powers that be (big biz/pharma, govt. and others) are making a bigger deal of/exploiting it for their own ends, not to help the common folk out. As for the govt. view muddying viewpoints, that potential for many exists, but I'm a true Libertarian; I hate/distrust both sides of the aisle equally and find agreement with only select few (Thomas Massie, Tulsi Gabbard, Rand Paul are the only current ones). It's not the politics, just an insane amount of reading and later in life realization that there's way more BS out there than meets the eye.

Just figured I'd give you a kick for the Hell of it ( Or whatever it is atheists do).
Being a vegetarian too, it would probably be something like " Whack you with a carrot for the , no afterlife whatever, of it.
 
I agree with big pharma bullshit. Ive given drugs that are 5k before the hospital even marks it up....to like 15k. On the other hand,TPA which costs like 30K, has turned a stroke to near normal in a matter of 30 min. Why is it so expensive? got no idea. Would I give it to a loved one and worry about paying for it later>? hell yeah.

I wager to guess that many of the top execs in those companies wholely support our ex-president. Little is done from both sides to make meds more affordable. I think this is why folks want a more socialist-style health care. Will it happen, probably not.

Health insurance plays a role in this too. Whole nother' can of worms though.
 
Didn't Trump lower the cost of prescription drugs, especially insulin, while Joe promptly raised them. Or is that more fake news?
 
As a type 1 diabetic, I'm still waiting to see what my insulin cost will be this year (refill comes available end of next month). Looking at the retail sites, the prices seem to be back up to the same level they were when Trump won. I haven't looked at retail recently, but I vaguely remember something Trump claimed credit for did lower them somewhat.

What I'm really bummed about is stupid BBB Trudeau just about killed the medical tourism with his draconian border crossing extortion. It overall saves me over the prescription pricing, due to no up-front deductiles on all the corp. health plans I've had. Can't justify it with potentially >$1000 in additional "quarantine requirements"..... :-({|=
