HUGE UPDATE!!! First off- pardon the delayed response. I was hoping to make a vid showing things- but it keeps not happening- so I'll type it out.
As mentioned- Craig from Direct Edge called me up and said he'd take care of it. He came to out jobsite in Hollywood 2 days later, left a brand new machine, took ours away. 2 days later he brought us our machine back to us in LA. There were basically 2 major fixes. 1- they welded the bracket that holds the pin that holds the chip chute. After, it was sprayed with primer. I have the touchup paint for it- so I'll fix the paint in a moment here.
Regarding the disc cover not closing- he said that there was just so much grime built up inside that the my just had to take 5 minutes to scrape it off and now it closes easily with no mallet needed.
They power washed the whole thing. The fuel tank looked near new!
We took the rope off. The chute stays where it's supposed to now.
Seems to be in great working order. I am again a happy camper.
